Traumas of Life
July, 1994

There is no love lost between us
But there is war.
Appearances are often deceptive
Yes, they are.

Behind every smile I hide a tear
Behind every hope there is fear
Behind every glance I seek a motive
Iíve lived through hell, Iíve lived through peace.

A few friends and many foes
Limited smiles, unlimited woes.

The fibers that unite us are not of love
Relationships often get crumpled
Marred by frivolous thoughts
Yes, they do
And they have
Leaving me alone to cry
Cry at those broken bonds.

Still I stand and face the rain
Tied by a miraculous chain.
The fibers that unite has
Have become entangled
And our relationships have turned estranged.

Feelings often get crumpled
Marred by frivolous thoughts
Which once board the brain
Are difficult to be derailed.

I admit I too have failed
To keep my heart pure
To keep my heart clean.

Afraid of my weakness
I shirk away from myself
And so I stand alone
With bitterness which I have sown in my heart
With time it has ripened and nourished
The roots have spread and it has flourished
All my efforts to uproot it have gone in vain
So alone I stand and face the pain.
